Dr. Dave is Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at St. Alexius Medical Center

July 2018 marked Dr. Dave's 30 year anniversary at Schwartz Pediatrics. In addition to being a full time pediatrician, he continues to serve as chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at St. Alexius Medical Center (SAMC) in Hoffman Estates. He has been in this leadership role since January 1, 2015.

For years Dr. Dave has taught the Loyola medical students as part of their pediatric rotation at SAMC. This is his favorite part of the week. He loves teaching the students and is glad to give back to the younger doctors. He now carries the title of an affiliate faculty member in the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Dave continues to work diligently focusing on improving the quality of care for his pediatric patients. He is a current board member of Health Plus Physicians Organization (HPPO) and for the past decade is an active participant in its Medical Management Committee.

Dr. Dave remains an avid bike rider and constantly promotes bike helmet safety for his patients. Several years ago he joined up with Health Plus Physicians Organization and some local bike shops in a bike helmet safety campaign by awarding “Helmets R Cool” t-shirts to all the participants. You can see those yellow t-shirts all summer long.

Dr. Dave...30 years and going strong.

Dr. Henry "Elie" Schwartz - Moving forward

Since joining Schwartz Pediatrics in 2015, Dr. Elie has grown professionally by taking on new roles at St. Alexius Medical Center (SAMC).  He was chosen to be part of the Healthcare Leadership Academy, is a member of the informatics team, and helps out as a part time hospitalist.

Dr. Elie gives monthly prenatal talks to expectant parents at SAMC. He enjoys being part of their journey. He believes great parenting begins before the baby is born. His nurturing style allows him to connect well with expectant parents by providing them relevant information while reassuring them about what the next few months will bring.

Dr. Elie remains active in his spare time. He rides his bike, runs, works out at the gym, and has started playing golf. He encourages all of his patients to get at least 60 minutes of exercise a day along with a balanced and healthy diet.

Dr. Elie recently got married on July 4, 2018.  His wife, Jackie, is a special education teacher in Vernon Hills.

Congratulations Dr. Elie!
